The leak could be due to the normal operation of the thermal release valve.
When the water temperature rises above the acceptable limit the thermal release valve opens to allow the hot water to exit the pressure washer.

If your power washer leaks water from the connection between the hose and inlet the seal and possibly the coupling on the inlet are likely broken and will need to be replaced.

The thermal release valve allows hot water to exit the pressure washer if the water temperature becomes excessively high.
When a hose is attached it is screwed into the inlet coupling which holds the hose firmly and seals the connection so water does not leak out.

If the pressure washer runs for more than 5 minutes when the spray wand isn t in use the water in the pump often overheats causing the thermal relief valve to open and discharge hot water onto the ground.
The inlet seals function is to seal the water intake inlet.
